Help you contour, restore and create volume

Dermal fillers are used to fill in facial creases and plump up the lips. These fillers can soften the signs of aging by plumping deep wrinkles and softening the appearance of fine lines. The effects are immediate and patients can return to work that same day.

Why dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are an effective solution for combating wrinkles, creases and folds, and at Bespoke Skin Clinic we offer a variety of fillers that can promote a more youthful countenance. Features in the face may begin to lose volume due to factors like sun exposure, gravity, diet, genetics, and the overall use of facial muscles. It is because of these attributes that many people seek facial rejuvenation procedures to restore the natural contours in the face. Dermal fillers can tighten the skin and take years off of your appearance.

What is a Dermal Filler?

There are many dermal fillers in production currently that contain various substances known to rejuvenate the skin, however the majority of fillers used at Bespoke Skin Clinic are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a hydrating solution responsible for keeping the skin full and plump. When injected into the skin, the filler restores otherwise sunken features in order to eliminate lines and smooth the skin.

The types of fillers offered at Bespoke Skin Clinic include:

  • Revolax®
  • Teosyal®

The dermal fillers used depend on the areas being treated. We specialize in filling smile lines, deep wrinkles and enhance the fullness of lips. A particular appeal of dermal fillers is how they can be adjusted to your facial structure to produce natural results. No dermal filler treatment uses a one-size-fits all methodology, meaning that your results will align specifically with the aesthetic desires you have in mind.

Dermal Fillers at Bespoke Skin Clinic

During a consultation in our clinic, we can discuss your goals for treatment. We consider your expectations, time frame and budget in order to decide whether dermal fillers will effectively treat your aesthetic concerns. We aim to understand the issues you have with your skin so that we can provide treatment that makes you feel beautiful for years to come.

Preparation for dermal fillers consists of removing any bacteria from the surface of the face and applying local or topical anesthetic onto the treatment area. Afterwards, the treatment area may be massaged in order to distribute the filler throughout the wrinkle. Once the filler is injected, it begins to bind to moisture in the skin and increase the volume in the skin, resulting in a firmer and smoother texture. You can expect dermal fillers to last between 3 to 18 months depending on the area of the face that was treated.

We typically do not recommend dermal fillers if you have to make any major appearances in two weeks or less, and although results are immediate, the hyaluronic acid will eventually become metabolized by the body, meaning that subsequent treatment may be necessary to maintain results. If, for any reason, you decide that dermal filler treatment does not meet your expectations, a solution called hyaluronidase can be injected into the affected area and break down the filler within 24 hours.

frequently asked questions

Are Dermal fillers better than BOTOX?

BOTOX works differently than dermal fillers. Dermal fillers create more volume in the face and reduce wrinkles by stretching existing skin. BOTOX prevents wrinkles from forming by reducing the repetitive muscular motions that cause them. Dermal fillers will treat issues like lost volume; BOTOX will not.

How long do Dermal fillers last?

The results of Dermal filler treatment vary based on the type of filler used. Often Dermal fillers deliver results that last 3 to 18 months. Bespoke Skin Clinic also provides patients with facial filler details prior to treatment; this ensures patients can establish realistic treatment expectations.

How long is the treatment?

Depending on the extent of your treatment, receiving dermal filler injections will take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes.

Does it hurt?

If you choose to, we will use a numbing agent to ease the slight discomfort you may feel on entry. The practitioner will safely inject the correct depth to create your desired result. You will then receive a gentle, relaxing massage to sculpt, shape and remove lumps.

How long is recovery?

Some minor swelling, tenderness and bruising are common after an injection, but these symptoms will resolve quickly. You will be able to return to your normal activities, but take care to avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for at least 24 hours.

Do I need to avoid anything before and after treatment?

Although a safe procedure, there are certain activities you should avoid afterwards.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
  • Do not expose the treated area to intense heat. For example, a sauna.
  • Try to sleep on your back for a few nights, avoiding pressure.
  • Avoid drinking any alcohol for at least 24 hours.
  • Do not use oil-based make-up, retinols/Vitamin C therapy for 24 hours.
  • Avoid facials, waxing or peels for at least two weeks after treatment.
